None,Oneness
In the work None, Oneness (無相:萬物歸一), I explore the interplay between semantics, the body as a landscape, and the philosophy of
“yijing” (意境) and symbolism within the realms of non-terrain and abstraction. The body itself is reimagined as forms within natural elements, as well as a symbol of freedom.
This exploration promotes a reflection on human existence—initially perceived as form, then gradually dissolving into formlessness— ultimately creating a natural beauty of existence. As expressed in the Taoist principle:
"Tao gives birth to One (forms of nature),
One gives birth to Two (the branching of nature into relationships), Two gives birth to all things (matter)."
What remains after human presence fades? This project questions the mythology of existence and the nature of matter by transforming the human body into a metaphorical landscape. It reveals the ambiguity between forms and essence, leading to a formless conclusion.
By erasing the boundaries of human form, the work presents an equal balance of existence that transcends gender, identity, and individual presence. It reflects humanity as an integral, indistinguishable part of nature, devoid of hierarchical distinctions, and highlights the unity and impermanence of all existence.
